Joaquim Rodrigues releases his first album under his name, ‘Plexus’, in which he is accompanied by a luxurious cast in a singular formation: Marcos Cavaleiro and Mário Costa on drums, Pedro Santos on electric bass, Miguel Ângelo Silva on double bass, Luís Ribeiro on guitar and Xose Miguélez on tenor saxophone. ‘Plexus’ is the musical expression (or interpretation) of a geographically delimited time and space, markedly bucolic and full of countless complexities founded on really simple problems. It reflects harshness, climatic rigor, desertification and loneliness. But also the many points added to the tale, its ramifications and nature in its fullness and in its extremes.
