About Miguel Ângelo
He started his musical activity at the age of 10 at «Tuna Musical de Fiães», where he attended music training classes, guitar and, later, double bass. In the 80s he started a project in the area of rock, called «Curtes Baldei-me», where he played bass guitar. A few years later, it was at the Jazz School of Porto that he resumed his musical studies, working on electric bass with professor Alberto Jorge. Although rock music was, for some time, his field of artistic interest, it was jazz that eventually won his full attention. Still under the guidance of double bassist Alberto Jorge, he resumed his studies of double bass and combo with pianist Paulo Gomes, at the Jazz School of Porto, in the late 90s. Later, he continued with bassist Pedro Barreiros and later, counted on the support of double bassist António Augusto Aguiar. He attended the official music course with professors Alenxander Worf and Joel Silva up to 5th grade, at the Academia de Paços de Brandão and later at Sta. Maria da Feira. A few years after finishing his degree in Informatics / Applied Mathematics at Universidade Portucalense, he returned to higher education in 2004, this time to study Contrabass.
